 Power

The first thing I think of when I think of the word power is Oprah.  Oprah is someone who is very knowledgeable and lots of people look to her for guidance.  Oprah stares almost through you in this photo but looks oh so powerful.  She is a woman who can do anything she wants to and is an inspiration.

 Depression

Depression is something that is very prevalent in society now-a-days.  It is an emotion that overtakes you and makes you become something you're not.  It is a very touchy subject and a lot of people feel that they can not say how they truly feel because they don't want to be just another case or told that it is normal to have those feelings.  This photo shows girl sitting on the ground with her head in her hands on a blank wall.  

Materialism

Sex and the City instantly makes me think of materialism.  The 4 friends constantly talk about their latest purchases and everything results in a shopping trip.  They all live in New York City and are social highlights who everyone loves.  Their clothes are thousands of dollars.  They are never happy with what they have.

This photo shows a small house with a power plant close to the home.  It shows how power plants are dangerously close to residential areas and could potentially harm the surroundings.

This photo shows a football team practicing on a field that is in close proximity to a power plant.  It shows the harmful toxins being released into the air could potentially be inhaled by the inhabitants that are close to the power plant.

Both photos portray a gruesome reality that we are not realizing the fact that our use of power plants is harmful to not only the environment but ourselves as well.  The photos make us stop and think about alternative ways to create new environmentally-friendly power sources.
